Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Horsepower and Continuous Horsepower?

Treadmill motors are rated by the amount of horsepower they provide. The higher the horsepower (HP) rating, the larger and more powerful the motor. Some treadmills are rated at continuous-duty horsepower (CHP). A 2.0 CHP motor is actually more powerful than a 2.0 HP motor.

Continuous Duty Horsepower: A measurement of the motor’s ability to maintain a listed HP over an extended period of time. This test is considered the most accurate indicator of motor output, because it is performed at the voltage used in application by the particular motor. Horsepower: A calculation of the motor’s maximum horsepower. This provides no measure of the motor’s HP over an extended period of time. Experts agree that continuous-duty ratings are the more accurate indicator of true performance.

Should I work out everyday?

Ideally, your workout regime should be prescribed by your personal physician. On a general note, your body needs rest. 3-4 times a week should help to gain muscle strength.

Why choose running on a treadmill than running outdoors?

Ultimately, the choice is yours. There are however several reasons you may want to choose running indoors. It is safer. You have access to a personal coach when running on a treadmill with integrated tools. It is also easier on your joints, especially when using a treadmill with cushioned decks. Perhaps, also, your training may be more consistent as you have your treadmill right in your home.
